Exploring: Recovery & Spirituality

THURSDAYS: November 4 to Dec 9 (excluding Nov 11) 7:00-8:30pm

We are all in bondage to…something. Some addictions are more visible, but all of us are oppressed to some extent. We all have a tendency to forget that there is a God – and we are not God. We end up with broken relationships, loss of communion with our true, In-Christ selves, you name it – we end up with troubles related to our forgetfulness. This series explores some ancient, traditional spiritual practices that help us recover and live “into Christ.” These spiritual practices align with the work of recovery and the work of faith.

We want to explore these practices together. The goal is that we can better understand the journey that moves us from bondage into the freedom found in Christ. We want to understand this for ourselves and for each other as we journey as a community. Each Thursday we will watch one (or more) short video (6 – 14 minutes) and then explore what the particular practice looks like in our lives. Each session will be a combination of watching, listening to Scripture, & conversation.
